Ski/Snowboard Program

6 week program

 This year there are 2 options !

For those just learning, or who want to practice, or who want to develop more advanced skills; at Shawnee Mountain, Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pennsylvania. Skiing/Snowboarding is considered a high-risk sport; only those in excellent physical condition should participate in this program. Buses will leave from Mt Olive High School at 4:30pm to arrive at Shawnee at 5:30pm.

Buses will return approximately 11:00pm to Mt Olive High School . The Recreation Dept. has the right to reschedule dates that may have been canceled and they may not be Fridays.

Option 1: Grades 4-12 may ride up on a charter bus with Mt. Olive volunteers

 Adults & Kids will get the same great group rate but must provide their own transportation(no age restriction) for the same fridays as our bus program.

1) Only snowboard rental and lesson may be switched to ski rental and lesson and this must be done before trip #3, ski rental and lesson cannot
be changed once the program has started.
2) Check with your group leader on details of your group’s “missed trip” voucher policy.
3) Lesson make-ups must be completed by 03/06/2016.
1)  Pro-rated refunds for medical reasons or injury only. Refunds permitted if the injury/medical condition occurs by the conclusion of the 2nd trip.
Refund requests of any kind will not be considered thereafter. Refunds may take up to six weeks to process. Refunds must be routed through
group leader, not Group Sales.
2) There will be a $35.00 processing charge for ALL refunds over $50. Refunds up to and including $50.00 will be issued in the form of a
Shawnee Mountain Gift Card.

To ensure your child’s safety, Helmets are mandatory for all participants including Chaperones. Snowboarding Participants: Due to the high risk of wrist injuries, wrist guards are mandatory

Medical Release form must be notarized and returned to Recreation Dept by Dec. 12,2014

Member Absentee Vouchers Absentee vouchers are issued to members who have missed a scheduled club trip; this includes your bonus (6th) trip. One (1) voucher is issued per member.

Upon arrival at Shawnee Mountain, instructions for lessons and equipment rentals will be given. To stay warm, be sure to wear gloves/mittens, a hat, and dress in several layers. Ideally, non-cotton (i.e. polyester) may be worn as a first layer to wick water away from the skin. In addition, renters are advised to wear wide pants cuffs to fit over ski boots.Helmets will be mandatory for all participants

Shawnee Behavior Problems and dismissals

Behaviors that will constitute suspension from the ski program include: Use or signs of use, of tobacco, alcohol, drugs; abusive or disruptive language; abusive or disruptive actions, violence – verbal or physical, disobedience of chaperone or Shawnee representative before, during, or after any trip.
